“We reached the driveway of where I was staying. Suddenly, the sky turned grey and then black, and the most tumultuous intense flood of rain came pouring down from the sky. I got out of the car and stepped onto the driveway. I did not even attempt to enter the house. I just sat down right there in the driveway and let the cooling water cascade onto my skin. The relief was incredible, yet intangible, because it was more than the disappearance of the searing heat. I looked up at the skies and I could feel the presence of so many ancestors. They had spoken. They had opened a gateway for me to communicate more directly with them. From that day, they were constantly in my presence and the communication between us was crystal clear. When I look back at this day, I remember it as the Day the Heavens Opened Up. The Day the Skies Opened Up and Gave Me the Water I Needed.”
